I am home!

Well, I made it home! Whew! When I said I made it, I meant it. It was a close call. We had the worst flight in the world. It was turbulence the whole entire way home. Not so much fun. The seat belt was on so much that for the little bit it was off there was like huge lines for the restroom. It was a experience. I am glad to be home, but when I was leaving I was really pulled in both directions. It was kind of hard to leave the people. There was a large group that came to see us off at the airport. It made it so hard to turn around and walk away from them. The people there were so sweet! I miss them all. I have jet lag...:( Oh well, Its part of the journey I suppose. The day time is so hard for me. I spent Wednesday and Thursday hanging out at home. Friday was my official day back to work but that didn't work out so well since I was falling asleep all day long. So tonight I went to Prisilla and Uncle Chad Adair's graduation parties. They were fun. It was nice to see everyone. I got to see Uncle Keith, Aunt Patty, Sydney and Gentry! They were here for Uncle Chads party. I miss them. I wish we all lived in the same area. Oh Well, When we all get to heaven there will be no more goodbyes. Whoo-Hoo! Anyhow, I am going to finish and post some pictures!!

Our God is a good God!

Thank the lord! We prayed for the lord to move and break up the typhoon heading toward us...and He did! I am so thankful that he listens to our prayers. Well, It is now Tuesday morning. I am getting ready to pack up all my stuff with only a few things left out! I love it here, and I love the people here. But I am so glad to be able to get back to life. I am ready to drive. I don't think I will be but I don't know, pray that I am not turned around when I drive! The drive on the right side here. Anyhow, gotta get in the shower and pack. Bro. Doan (the missionary here) is going to pick us up in a couple of hours for lunch. Pray for our flight home! love you all. See you in a day or so!

So, we are looking at the weather and guess what?! There is supposed to be a typhoon coming straight toward Okinawa! It is supposed to hit Tuesday or Wednesday. If this happens there will be no planes leaving this Island! I will not be able to fly out on Wednesday! This would not be a problem except...I have a final on Thursday. Pray people pray!

Friday and Saturday...

Conshesheemaas! (A greeting here in the church!) I hope all is well on your side of the world! :) I am so thankful to have this means of communication. I am going to copy these and have a diary of my trip..kinda..haha! So, Friday was an exciting day! (really, what days haven't been right?) We got up and went to another 100yen store. After we came home and dropped meemaw off at the apartment. Sis. Laura and I went out searching for a adventure...Just kidding we decided to go to a open air market! It's called Coksihdorie. It had all kinds of neat shops along the road and down this little side alley thing. (It was very safe...don't worry mom.) Well, to get there we rode the monorail. This is a little train thing up in the air. I was kinda scared...but I lived! What a wonderful God we serve...HaHa! He calmed my nerves. Anyhow, There were many shops with traditional clothing, foods (good and weird), and trinkets. I bought a little goya person key chain and a pretty traditional patterned bag. I have all kinds of neat pictures from this place. They had real frogs dried up and made into change purses, and huge bags with thousands of dried fish to eat. It was interesting! So, Goya is bitter melon. Its not so much like a melon, however, they got the bitter part right. It is so very popular here in Okinawa. So, then after the trip back on the monorail we rushed home and got ready for church. Church was really good. A few people that had not been attending regularly was there and really broke through. I have been here only a short time, but I have already fallen in love with the people here. Some of the most friendly, sweetest people live on this small island that you can barely see on a map. Their spirits are so sweet. I really could stay here for a longer time and be at home. Words really cannot describe how nice and hospitable they have been. The Clevingers have been toting us around and have been so very nice to us. I appreciate them so much for all they have done and how much they have went out of their way to take us to things. They have been so wonderful. We are staying with Sis. Laura Clevinger. Her husband, Bro. Les Clevinger moved in with another Aimer, Bro. Vince Demuth. So they are teaching alot about missions here, and sending out missionary's from here. So, today we had a international potluck. It was funny for me to come to Japan and have a international potluck. To me I was like okay, so where the Japanese! haha. We had some good food from around the world. I cannot describe to you how moving this trip has been. If I ever doubted that I was called to go around the world teaching about our savior Jesus Christ, I know now. God has placed such a huge burden upon me like never before. I see these people walking around this beautiful island, where in 8 towns there are 2 churches. I probably will not end up living on this island (although, I wouldn't mind.) I still have been shown the huge need that is calling to us from around our world. Who will go if I do not go? Who will listen to the call of God? I urge anyone who have been called, Please don't lose your burden! We are desperately needed around the world! Now, I am gonna go to bed. :) I am tired and we have church early in the morning! I love and miss all of you!

Its been a good day!

Praise the Lord! God is so awesome. I am learning so many things over here on the field. God really works in a different way overseas. People are different, open and closed about different things. God is touching the Okinawan people in a mighty mighty way. He not only touching but moving among these people. I know that I have said this over and over again, But, again I say I am so thankful to be able to be here. Today was a good day! Sis. Eiko Diaz took us on the marine base to show me the base here. It is very interesting to be on base. We also went to China Pete's. This is a store with beautiful china and other neat things from here. It's so great! So, Food. I really really like Japanese food. I do not like sheshemee(sushi). There is alot of really good food here on this island. I have figured out that here, I would rather get Japanese food- even when it is a new odd food. Because the American food is not what you think of. So, Japanese or American!? Japanese, Please! ;) A funny thing here on the island is there are alot of roaches, which is gross. But the name in Japanese for them are gokeebootys. Yes, just like it sounds. I laughed so hard. I think it a great name for these nasty little creatures. Well, We just got home from a missionary dinner. I was able to meet all the military leaders. They are all sweet people. I was very glad to meet all of them. We had a fun time, visiting. Everyone telling stories some funny missionary stories, some moving missionary stories and more stories. It was so nice. Its late and I have alot to accomplish tomorrow, so talk to you all later. Oh and Kirk in honor of you, I put salt on the napkins.:) No, It was driving me crazy! Goodnight, I love and miss you all.

hmm..

I am not sure what happened to the font on the previous blog... Sorry!

Having Fun!

Well, I haven't been on for a few days because I have been running around...nonstop. *Wink* So a quick re-cap of the last 2 days. Yesterday, we got up and went to the church school. I taught chapel on Living for God is fun! I talked alot about myself and what ministries that I am really involved in. I talked about what is effective for us. I really felt like God moved and I was able to connect with the students. I have got to know the youth here. They are all so sweet and very involved. It is great to see the young people up on the platform. After chapel, Bro. Doan took us to a place...like a Japanese fresh choice.

It was very me! I loved it. We went to the mall called Jesco. It was really nice! I was bad and got a few pairs of shoes. It was really good bargains and a smart girl never ever passes one of those up. :) Three pairs of shoes and a few gifts later...We left there. We drove up this hill and looked out over the cities on the island and the ocean...actually it is the East China Sea. Anyhow, after that we went to eat and the rest of the night was spent in the restaurant talking about God and his wonderful ways. This morning we got up and were picked up by Sis. Tamiko. We drove over and looked around Okinawa city. We went to Tedia-Sans house and stayed most of the day ministering to her. Her husband passed away a few days ago. We were able to spend time with her and her sons. She also invited some friends over for lunch. We picked up Sis. Tamiko's boys and went to the seawall. It was beautiful. We went to the 100 yen store (dollar store) here. It is so huge! It had alot of nice stuff in it! We went to church. Bro. Doan taught a very good message about exercising the gifts and talents God has gave to you. It was very touching. He is a great minister. It is now after 12, we went out for dinner and I talked to my mom and Karissa on the phone. I miss everyone. I am having fun though and I am learning so much about being a missionary. It is not a easy job. Its not a easy path to walk down. I am so glad that God opened the doors for me to come. I really believe he is molding me into the vessel that he needs in his kingdom. I am feeling God touch me in a special way. I pray that I can continue to minister to the people here. God is a awesome God he is. Well, I'm going to go make my bed. Love all of you! Comment! I love getting the comments! I makes me feel close to home. :) Ciao!

Its been a exciting day!

Today has been an exciting tourist day! It has been a blast. A couple of the sweet ladies, Sis. Tomoko and her mother, took us to the ocean. We ate some wonderful Thai Food, while sitting on a hill look out over the ocean. When I get home I will post pictures. The water is like a picture. It is the aqua color. Although when you look down it is clear. We went out on the ocean in a glass boat. It is a boat with a portion of the bottom glass. We went out and look down at all the beautiful fish. I saw Nemo! *Smile* There was many different kinds of fish. It was so beautiful. I got to walk out in the ocean. It was really warm and perfect. I found some pretty shells. At the restaurant there were fossils. It was really neat. The had all kinds of fish fossils. They also had a dinosaur thigh. It was kinda neat. They also had a little dino head. There was so many neat things today. We got home exausted, so we took a nap. Afterwards we went out for dinner with the Doans. I walked through the mall. I got some really beautiful little hair things. It was pretty cheap. Tomorrow I am going to speak at the chapel in the school. Pray for me! It will be ok. I am looking forward to be able to talk to the young people here. Anyhow, Its late. I miss everyone! Love everyone! Bye!

This is my 3rd day!

Well, I gotta type fast because I have to go to church. :) We are constantly running here. Yesterday I did get to sleep in. That was really nice because of jetlag. We have finished the Ladies Conference. It was very very powerful. God spoke directly to the ladies of Okinawa. So, The food. It is very interesting is a good word. Its not nessessarily bad...but different. Ok, so some of it is bad. HaHa.. I had some chicken and rice that was really good. I have learned something fast...go for the new food. The American food here is discusting. I like the fries and that about all. Their ranch tasted like radishes. I was all Yes! Ranch! Shortly it became...Oh No! Radishes! Blechk! No, I do like alot of the food here. And the Coffee is to die for! I love it. Kirk, I think of you when we go out to eat because all the places give you wet napkins to wash you hands. They give you like two so it does a better job. It's kinda cool. Anyhow....I gotta finish my hair. Love yall! Oh yeah, and comment! I like reading the comments!

Im actually in Japan!

I am in Japan!! I have been here two nights and one day! Sometimes I stop and think...WoW! I am in Japan! We arrived here late at night on Thursday...this is because we lost a day coming. We left at 12:00 pm on Wednesday. We arrived in Toyko after a 11 hour flight. Only to get on a plane and fly to the island of Okinawa. The latter flight was about 2 1/2 hours. Bro. Doan and some other brothers and sisters were at the airport to pick us up. We went and they decided we needed to eat. We went to a Japanese fastfood place where I was able to find some Veggie Curry. It was yummy...I was shocked! LOL. Meemaw and I are staying with a sweet lady named Sis. Laura. Her husband moved out for a few weeks so that we could move in. Sis. Laura has really went out of her way to accommodate us. We attended a funeral...This was a experience! They are much different here then in the states. After we went up this little hill and put his ashes in the shrine their family has. Yes, I said it was a experience. We got to go the mall! It was 6 stories high..Yes Ladies, I am serious! We didn't really get to shop a whole lot .:( I did tell them I wanted to go back though! HaHa..What can I say?!?! We had our first church service. It is a ladies conference that is going on. I got to testify and Meemaw preached. God moved in a incredible way. I am so excited to see what God is going to do while we are here. These Ladies can pray, let me tell you! Then, we played tea party! It was really pretty! I got to keep my tea cup! Well, I am gonna go...I have a luncheon that I have to leave for in a few mins. I hear its gonna be American food. This I can stand. Actually, the food has not been half bad...We have not went for sushi though. I love American sushi...You know the chicken kind?! Well, I'm not looking forward to the REAL sushi. HAHa. I love you all! Pray for us! Ill get back on here as soon as I can. I was going to blog sooner but the computers are all in Japanese. But I got desperate and so I started clicking until I found the sign in page. :) Anyhow, Sayanaro!

My sweet friend stayed the night with me so that she could help me this morning. And she did! I am so excited about what God is going to do while we are there. I am looking forward to letting myself be molded into what Jesus wants me to be. I really am amazed that everything has worked out for me to go, I believe it really was God's will for me to make this trip. Well, ciao for now! Karissa and Adam are Married!

Wow! The wedding is over. It's sorta bittersweet. I'm so happy that all the stressful planning and things we HAD to do for the wedding are over. And that the wedding went so beautifully. The downside is Karissa is no longer gonna be living a minute and 57 seconds away from my house....but around 8 hours away. The only thing I have to counteract the fact shes moving is that Coos Bay is beautiful and will be a wonderful vacationing spot! :) Well, the Wedding in my opinion was beautiful and couldn't have went better. Even Kyle running back and forth was a wonderful addition to the original plan. He even jumped over the rose pedals so he wouldn't mess 'em up! LOL. I will admit that I pretty much bawled the whole wedding but then again what best friend wouldn't. So, now its 1:40pm on Sunday and I have been awake for about 40 mins. My hair is still in curls on the very top of my head. I was way to tired to take it out. I got to bed around 12:30 after partyin' with the rest of the wedding party...Well, kinda around 11:30 I started to fade. However, I was entitled to fade since I had been at the church until 4:00am Friday night. We were finishing the decorations in the church. Mike L, Ben L, and Kirk were a wonderful help to the family working. A huge shout out to them. So, a normal thing for you to assume is, Well SarahAnne its all over and you can relax. and my answer is not so fast. I now have to do the last minute shopping and pack for my trip. Oh, and I think I have forgotten to mention that while I am typing my mom is at the hospital picking up a new kid. She is a 10 yr. old girl with diabetes. She will be here for about 6-9 months. My life is never boring let me tell you. Well, I'm hungry and so I gotta go. :) love to all.
